Many of my peers at school often ask me, "Why do you always sit alone?" or "Why are you so secluded?" My simple answer is always- "I like staying alone." When I utter these words, I usually get a confused look back from the others.
I am an introvert; yes I am, and I never feel embarrassed in admitting the fact. You will frequently find people who feel that introverts are very possessive and don't want to contribute towards anything. But, that is actually a grave misconception. I believe that it is an introvert who observes and brings out solutions.
There are another group of people who are extroverts. The society often creates a barrier between the two groups, and creates wrong stereotypes in the minds of people.
There are another group of people who are extroverts. The society often creates a barrier between the two groups, and creates wrong stereotypes in the minds of people.
So let us look at both these kinds with a broader outlook-
Extrovert:-
The Oxford dictionary meaning of an extrovert is- a lively, sociable person. In essence, an extrovert is someone who is very comfortable in society, and maintains good relationships with people. According to me, the best attribute possessed by extroverts is that of spreading positive vibes in their surroundings. When you read that, you will surely comment that there are a few who are too loquacious and their habit of talking unnecessarily is irritating. But, just reflect on that for a minute. Think about life without such kind of people. These people, even though they might be destructive elements; are actually adding meaning to all our lives. Their energy is amazing; only that it needs to be channellised in the right direction.
Introvert:-
An introvert is basically someone who talks less, and likes staying with oneself. Introverts are amicable with only a selected group of people. Moreover, such people are usually (and not certainly) very focussed doing their own work, rather than thinking about others.
Introverts don't talk, they speak. Their is a lot of difference between talking and speaking. Talking can have negative connotations; whereas speaking is usually for the beneficence of others.
So, ultimately, who is better-Introvert or Extrovert? Should people talk less or speak less? Who deserves more respect?
Right, let me make one point very clear- I don't want to get into debating 'Introvert' vs 'Extrovert'. It will surely lead to lot of scrutiny. I feel that both are wonderful in their own ways. Both are needed in equal proportions for the society to function properly.
We need people who can make us feel optimistic. Moreover, they are also very energetic, and their energy is contagious.
Introverts, on the other hand, are very focussed and determined. Whenever anyone gets distracted or disturbed, they can bring them back on track. Moreover, they can also help people manage their time better, and can motivate them on a regular basis. They will also control the extroverts when they go overboard.
There are different kinds of people in this world. They are of different castes, creeds, religions, genders etc. We must respect everyone and must treat them with love. At the same time, we must never create boundaries between introverts and extroverts. Everyone is wonderful in their own ways, and that always optimises all our hearts......

Introverts and extroverts both contribute in their own way to society and moreover a completely balanced personality lies somewhere between being an introvert in some situations and an extrovert in some.
